Classy Black & Cherry Side Tables

The highlight of this gorgeous pair of side tables is hands down, the cherry wood tops. We kept the pretty wood grain the focus of these tables by painting the trim a deep grey, and a classy black on the body & legs.
Both tables were stripped and sanded down to bare wood. Multiple coats of satin poly were applied to the top and WOW! Did it ever make the wood pop! The added bonus of poly is a durable water resistant finish. Top-shelf furniture paint was used and protected with a healthy layer of museum quality furniture wax.

Sunflower Storage Bench - $450
Say a bright cheery hello to your guests without saying a word by placing this bench in your entryway. It’s a perfect place to keep shoes, leashes and scarves out of sight. Or add a splash of whimsy to any living space and use it to store blankets or anything your heart desires!
Solid as can be, this bench was refinished using a mix of top shelf products that will stand the test of time.

Funky Blue, Purple, Red Mirror - $125
This funky mirror was stripped down to bare wood, lightly charred using Shou Sugi Ban technique to bring out the wood grain, and stained with bold colours of red, blue, grey and purple. Top coated with a glossy varnish.

Accent Lamp - $125

This lovely lamp is a fine example of how fun it is to turn boring brown wood furnishings into colourful character pieces. The beauty of milk paint is that you can sand it after painting, and in this case, it brought out white pigments in all of the paints giving an elegant speckled effect. Finished with a soft satin varathane and topped with a brand new shade.

Black Beauty - SOLD

Just like peeling back old carpets to find gorgeous hardwood floors underneath, the wood grain in the drawers of this stunner were found after sanding off layers of hideous paint. The body is newly dressed in black milk paint and sealed with museum quality beeswax. The eye is constantly attracted to the beauty of the drawers which were simply coated with crystal clear semi-gloss varnish. This solid dresser is vintage and as such, the drawers do require both hands to open and close.

Charcoal Grey Dresser with a Twist

Is it grey? Is it black? It is both at the same time! Layers of grey & black milk paint were applied to this sturdy pine based dresser then gently sanded to reveal the stunning wood grain. A hint of colour is revealed on the lightly distressed, easy-glide drawers, giving it additional character & depth. Finished with 2 layers of wax. This dresser was constructed with thick pine (5/8” thick…it’s a tank! ) and reminds me of one my Granddad made for my Mom. Surely this dresser was constructed with as much love as when I painted it!

Flow Blue Dresser - SOLD

This beautiful five-drawer dresser went from boring brown to a stunning blue. Painted in Flow Blue milk paint by Miss Mustard Seed. Tastefully distressed to reveal black highlighted wood grain, and classed up with two layers of clear beeswax. The drawers slide gracefully and with ease on their tracks and are adorned with brand new hardware.

Bohemian Blue Dresser - SOLD
This dreamy blue dresser is the sister to the Midnight Blue five drawer dresser. Believe it or not, I used the exact same Bohemian Blue paint on both. This one was finished with clear beeswax instead of hemp oil. The blue in this piece is rich and the wax gives the illusion of multiple blue tones.
Several layers of Minwax satin varnish will keep the top and the drawers protected for many years to come. The original hardware remains preserved in a new dark silver coloured finish. The original wheels were removed from this piece but, can easily be added back if you wish.

Starburst Dining Set - SOLD

Classy shades of homestead blue and grey silk were used to create this beauty. With a diameter of 42”, this solid wood, oak veneer dining set suits a smaller setting. It comes with one leaf that will add 18” to the table length. The table is finished with multiple layers of satin varnish and the chairs glow softly in their coats of beeswax, both finishes will withstand regular use for many years to come.
Hint of Ruby Dresser - SOLD
Petite but bold, this dresser is sure to please. Silky white and deep red drawers are enveloped in a soft black, with stunning wood grain all over the place, giving this piece a lot of texture. The drawers pop in their gloss finish, while the black chills out in its satin varnish coat. This is a vintage solid wood dresser where the drawers easily open and close with two hands.

Painted in teal and white, this classy bookshelf confidently adds a flash of colour to any room. White wax was used on the shelves to help the pine grain pop into life. The rest of this solid beauty was sealed with clear beeswax. Has a white panel attached to the back to keep all your books in the case!

This quiet beauty is now ready for the prom! After an extensive spa session, her beautiful wood features were rejuvenated with multiple layers of varnish. Dressed in blue, her drawer trim was distressed to reveal highlights of soft grey. A little bling was added to four of the drawers… the distressing reveals shimmering, yet subtle, silver.

Vavavoom! This is one good-looking side table! It’s got everything going for it from her bombproof top to her silver slippers. The solid wood top was stained in dark walnut & protected with multiple coats of satin poly which means: no coasters needed! It can take hot, it can take cold, you can leave a puddle of water on it overnight and it won’t care!
A gorgeous shade of emerald green was brushed over black with a hemp oil finish for a classic matte finish. This is one class act!
Duncan Phyfe Style Drum Table - SOLD
Add some class and a piece of history to your living space! This solid Duncan Phyfe style drum table from the 40’s is ready for the red carpet!
This beauty traded its tired brown coat for something more modern in dark grey. Its beautiful oak has been revitalized with multiple layers of satin poly and, silver metallic paint fancies up the feet and the vintage drawer pull that was poached from a different project.
Midnight Blue Dresser - Sold
The deep dark blue of this dresser borderlines black, but its silky softness takes a back seat to all that gorgeous wooden eye-candy!
The top and the drawers were sanded back to bare wood and refreshed with several layers of MinWax satin varnish. The original hardware compliments the lines of this dresser in a fresh coat of oil-rubbed bronze.
The body of this dresser was finished with a layer of hemp oil which dries over a period of 30 days to a hard shell. The original wheels were taken off this piece but you are welcome to have them, they will slide right back in place!

I am so IN LOVE with all these drawers! This baby is going to keep you organized and will hold everything you ask of it! A matching bedside table is also available, make it a set for $750.
This blue beauty is a solid, quality piece with thick pine construction and modern side drawer mounts that allow all the drawers to slide with ease.
Unburdened of the original black oily coat, the gorgeous pine top (lightly tinted with walnut coloured stain) is allowed to shine in all its glory. The top is protected with multiple coats of satin Polyurethane. Chocolate brown milk paint was used as a base coat on the body & drawers. A stunning blue was applied on top and sanded back to allow a beautiful contrast of colours. In this way, the wood grain pops and the result is one class act!
Mustard Yellow Dresser - SOLD
Bring some sunny colour into your home with this sweet number!
Furniture purists… look away! This piece is solid wood, with a super thick mahogany veneer. Gasp! Yes we diiiid! We painted and stained mahogany! She’s got a lot of weight to her and was exceptionally crafted by Gibbard Craftsmen here in Canada.
Mustard yellow milk paint is painted over chocolate brown and lightly distressed to give her lots of character and visual appeal. The very top & the two first drawers were lightly stained to tone down the red of the mahogany and varnished with satin poly for a bomb proof finish. Original hardware and the base are painted a classy dark steel metallic.
